It should be more than a classic miniature golf course: behind the name “MiniNaturgolf” stands the combination of playful environmental education and sporting standards. At the same time, the facility meets the standards of the German Minigolf Association and is therefore also suitable for competitions.

City of Fulda opens new miniature golf course in the floodplains

With a smile, city planning officer Daniel Schreiner (independent) pointed out the discoloration of the freshly laid paving stones in one place. “This is not due to poor construction, but rather due to the tree above, whose fruits color the pavement,” he explained. “It’s nature – it’s intentional.” Information boards about the star city, for example, underline the nature education offering.

The opening took place on the occasion of the nationwide “Urban Development Funding Day”. “It’s nice to be able to celebrate such days, which are of nationwide importance, not just in the abstract, but to be able to inaugurate a concrete project on site,” emphasized Mayor Wingenfeld. More than half of the project, which cost around 400,000 euros – around 260,000 euros – came from urban development funding and funding in connection with the Hesse day financed.

Following the official opening, the facility quickly filled up: numerous visitors – many of them with their children – took the opportunity to try out the new rides. Meanwhile, provided The “Firlefranz gourmet garden” provided guests with drinks and invited them to linger.
