A 91-year-old woman from Berlin with severe dementia was missing for days. Now she was found – in the car in which her husband, who also had dementia, had left her.
“After extensive investigations and the use of a police helicopter, the couple’s vehicle was located at around 8:30 p.m. on the Rhin, a tributary of the Havel in the state of Brandenburg,” the Berlin police announced on Thursday evening (May 7th). “Emergency forces from the Brandenburg police found the senior citizen inside the vehicle.” Her demented husband left the 91-year-old there. She has been missing since Tuesday (May 5).
The senior citizen was last seen in Lübeck with her husband as a passenger, as the police had previously announced. On Thursday (May 7th) the man was found alone and helpless without a car in the Kremmen area in Brandenburg. Because of his severe dementia, he was unable to provide any information about where he left the car. The man only said that he got stuck and got out to get help. He left his wife in the car.
After she was found, the 91-year-old was “taken to a hospital for further examination,” explains the police.
