After a woman's body was found in the trunk of a car in Heilbronn on Thursday morning, the police caught a suspect. It is a 41-year-old man. He was arrested in Regensburg by federal police forces. The Iraqi is strongly suspected of having killed the 39-year-old. According to current findings, there was a previous relationship between the victim and the suspect.
Body discovered on dirt road
The gruesome discovery was made early Thursday morning on a dirt road near Bad Rappenau-Bonfeld. The dead woman was in a black Mercedes – hidden in the trunk.
Evidence quickly emerged that the 39-year-old from Heilbronn could have been the victim of a violent crime.

The Heilbronn Criminal Investigation Department set up a 50-member special commission called “Stern”. The investigators worked under high pressure and also across countries.
With success: just a few hours after the discovery, they arrested a suspect.
Arrest in Bavaria
The suspect, a 41-year-old Iraqi, was arrested in Regensburg on Thursday afternoon. Federal police forces responded.
According to the current status of the investigation, the authorities assume that the victim and suspect were already in a personal relationship with each other. What kind of connection there was and what possible motive could be behind the crime is currently unclear.
For tactical reasons, the police have not yet commented further on this.

Investigators continue to ask for information from the public. We are particularly looking for witnesses on the night of Wednesday to Thursday in the Bad Rappenau-Bonfeld area in the Heilbronn district in Baden-Württemberg made suspicious observations.
The focus is on the area along State Road 1107 between Bonfeld and the surrounding towns.
