Exhibition “Living Traces – Discovering Jewish Life” at Uniplatz

Jewish life becomes visible: The new exhibition “Living Traces – Discovering Jewish Life” on Uniplatz is a reminder of how strongly Jewish life has shaped Fulda.

Fulda – With the exhibition “Living Traces – Discovering Jewish Life”, a special project started in Fulda city center on Wednesday evening, May 6th. Numerous visitors gathered at the opening on University Square – including representatives of the Jewish community and descendants of former Fulda Jews. Mayor Dr. In his opening speech, Heiko Wingenfeld (CDU) emphasized the relevance of remembering.

Silhouette exhibition reminds us of Jewish life in Fulda

The focus of the exhibition is twelve Jewish personalities from the 1920s and 1930s who significantly influenced life in Fulda. Life-size silhouettes make their stories visible in the urban space. Using a QR code, visitors can access additional information, images and documents about the respective personality.

The installation can initially be seen on Universitätsplatz until Monday (May 11th) and will then travel to various locations in the city center. It will remain accessible there until September and can then be borrowed by schools, clubs and communities.

The exhibition “Jewish Life in the Rhön” took place at the beginning of the year. Partly in the “Hohe Rhön” central school and the Hessian administration office of the Rhön Biosphere Reserve in Hilders.
