Fulda will be under the sign of blue lights in the coming days: Rettmobil opened its doors on Wednesday. Within the first two hours, 9,000 visitors came to the Fulda-Galerie exhibition center.

Fulda – At the opening of Rettmobil on Wednesday (May 6th), the growing importance of the industry became clear: visitors from around 50 countries, including delegations from Dubai, are expected. While the fire brigade exhibition is somewhat reduced this year – also due to a trade fair taking place soon – innovations in disaster control, modern rescue technologies and international cooperation are moving more into focus.

Prominent guests such as the Hessentag couple were thereas did Hesse's Interior Minister Roman Poseck (CDU), who attended the opening because the actual patron was unable to attend at short notice.

The main focus at the opening was on the future of civil protection. Poseck made it clear in his speech: “The challenges in civil protection are becoming greater – from major disasters to fires to the consequences of climate change.” At the same time, he emphasized the industry's innovative strength, which is reflected in numerous new products and realistic demonstrations.

The trade fair has also developed into a leading international platform, said managing director Manfred Hommel in the opening speech: “With guests from around 50 countries, the focus is on exchange and collaboration.”

Around 500 exhibitors from 28 nations are presenting their products and concepts for emergency services, fire departments and other emergency services organizations in Fulda. As in previous years, the offer is aimed at both specialist audiences and interested blue light fans. Around 30,000 visitors are expected at the Fulda-Galerie exhibition center.

By Friday (May 8th), Fulda will become an international center for rescue services, fire services, disaster control and emergency medicine. The Rettmobil is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on all three days of the trade fair.

During the Rettmobil there will be several road closures and changes to bus traffic in Fulda. At the exhibition center in Fulda-Galerie, Ernst-Barlach-Straße in the direction of Paul-Klee-Straße from Tuesday afternoon (May 5th) and Wolf-Hirth-Straße between the roundabout and Emil-Nolde-Allee in the direction of Sickels will be designated as one-way streets from Wednesday morning (May 6th), 7 a.m., up to and including Friday (May 8th).
