From May 11th until probably mid-July, the A7 will only be available to a limited extent near the Hünfeld/Schlitz junction. The reason is construction work.

Hünfeld – As Autobahn GmbH announced in a press release, the so-called transitional structures will be renewed during this time. These are components that compensate for expansion movements between the road and the bridge.

Due to construction work: traffic diversion on the A7 near Hünfeld/Schlitz

The work will take place both on and below the roadway in the bridge abutment, according to Autobahn GmbH. For occupational safety reasons, the respective roadway must be closed to traffic. During the construction period, all traffic will therefore be placed on one lane in each direction using the so-called 4+0 method. This means there are still two lanes available for each direction of travel.

From mid-May to mid-June, traffic will be on the road in the direction of Kassel, and from mid-June to mid-July in the direction of Fulda. The Entrances and exits to the Hünfeld/Schlitz junction, which were already renewed last yearwill remain open in every direction during the entire construction period. However, the Fuchsberg car park in the direction of Fulda will be closed.
