In France, the judiciary is investigating a father who is said to have seriously abused children at sleepovers and birthday parties. An entire village is in shock.

The victims are said to be between two and nine years old. In France, the judiciary is investigating a 40-year-old father from Lucenay, north of Lyon. As the public prosecutor's office in Villefranche-sur-Saône reports, the man is said to have already confessed to most of the crimes.
Several parents got the case rolling at the end of 2024. The suspicion: The father invited classmates of his own children to pajama parties and birthday parties and sexually assaulted the boy there. During a search, investigators found 127 videos and 197 photos that are considered evidence, according to the public prosecutor's office.
The alleged acts are said to have taken place between 2020 and 2024. According to information from the French newspaper Le Monde, the victims were all boys.

Did the father of the family sedate his victims with medication before the abuse?
The investigators are also checking whether the suspect could have sedate the children with strong medication before the attacks. For this purpose, specialized officers were called in to take over the questioning of the children.
According to the public prosecutor's office, the 40-year-old was not previously known to the police. According to Le Monde, he is said to have stated during interrogations that he himself had been abused as a child.
The case caused a shock wave in Lucenay. Many of the children affected attend the local primary school. Psychological and legal support services were therefore organized for families, the public prosecutor's office said. The investigation is ongoing.
