Brother discovers sister dead in freezer – autopsy raises new questions

It's an image that even experienced investigators can't shake:
The body of a 28-year-old lies in a freezer in the basement apartment of an apartment building in Bielefeld-Gellershagen – discovered by her own brother. The investigators hope that the autopsy of the body will help them further in the investigation. But apparently that's not the case.

The exact cause of death of the dead woman discovered in a freezer in a residential building in Bielefeld is still unknown. The body of the 28-year-old who was killed, which was autopsied on Thursday, showed various injuries, the police and public prosecutor's office in the North Rhine-Westphalian city said. However, further investigations are necessary to determine the cause of death with certainty.

The investigative authorities explained that the storage of those killed in the freezer could have led to changes in the injuries. In addition, the police and public prosecutor's office do not currently want to publish any concrete results of the autopsy or information on individual injuries “for criminal tactical reasons.”

The investigations by the Bielefeld police homicide squad were ongoing. A man discovered his sister's body on Sunday in a freezer in an apartment building in the Gellershagen district. The police assume it was a homicide. (ros)
