The Main-Kinzig district is planning a fairy tale network and is looking for storytellers: A new platform is intended to keep the fairy tale culture in the region alive and further develop it.
Gelnhausen – The Main-Kinzig district wants to strengthen its fairy tale tradition with a new network of storytellers and thus make the magic of the stories visible in the region. According to its own information, the culture department is planning to set up a platform that will keep the fairy tale culture alive and further developed in the district. We are looking for storytellers from across the Main-Kinzig district, regardless of whether they are professionally trained or have only ever told stories in private. Anyone who enjoys fairy tales and would like to pass on this enthusiasm can take part.
Network for storytelling: Storytellers wanted in the MKK
As the Department of Culture reports, we are particularly interested in information about how long the person in question has been telling fairy tales, how and how the passion for storytelling arose and whether there have already been public appearances – for example at events or in special places. You are also welcome to provide information about training or further education courses in storytelling that you may have attended. In addition, those interested should name their favorite fairy tale from their childhood and their favorite fairy tale today.
“Anyone who would like to take part in the project can help maintain the art of storytelling and oral tradition as a UNESCO intangible world cultural heritage and pass on the magic of fairy tales in the region,” the district said in a statement.
Anyone who would like to participate in the development of the new platform is asked to send their details by email along with a short introduction and a photo kultur@mkk.de to send. Further questions can be answered by Sandra Li Maennel from the Culture Department, who can be reached by email sandrali.maennel@mkk.de or by phone (06051) 85 13 734.
