A 46-year-old from Fulda causes a serious accident in Eichenzell at night. Alcohol was involved. The material damage is over 10,000 euros.

Eichenzell. – On the night of Sunday morning (March 8th), a serious traffic accident under the influence of alcohol occurred near Eichenzell around 1:40 a.m., reported the East Hesse police headquarters. A 46-year-old man from Fulda was driving a Ford Focus on the L3430, from Eichenzell-Zillbach towards Eichenzell-Büchenberg.

Driving at night with a blood alcohol content results in high damage

In the town of Eichenzell-Büchenberg, the driver overlooked a Skoda parked on the side of the road and collided with it. While investigating the accident, police officers noticed the smell of alcohol from the driver. A breath alcohol test showed a level of 1.32 per mille.

According to police estimates, the damage was in the lower five-figure range, i.e. over 10,000 euros. A serious accident occurred a few hours earlier near Willingshain in East Hesse. A pedestrian died and the cyclist was injured. The investigation is ongoing.
