
A serious accident near Schotten in the Vogelsberg district led to a rescue operation. A motorcyclist was seriously injured.
Schotten – On Sunday afternoon (March 8th) an accident occurred on the B276 federal highway at around 2:30 p.m. According to the East Hesse police headquarters, two motorcyclists from the Gießen district were traveling from Schotten in the Vogelsberg district towards Laubach in the Gießen district.
Accident in the Vogelsberg district: motorcyclist seriously injured
A collision occurred near the junction with K222, which leads to the Schotten district hospital. The 29-year-old motorcyclist, who was riding behind a 33-year-old cyclist, was inattentive and touched the motorcycle in front with his bike. This caused the younger driver to fall.
His Suzuki collided with a Peugeot in front. The motorcyclist was so seriously injured that he had to be taken to the hospital by rescue helicopter. The motorcyclist in front, who was driving a Yamaha, was taken to hospital for evaluation with minor injuries.
The road was completely closed for around 90 minutes. The police estimate the damage to the two motorcycles and the car at 20,000 euros. The day before, a serious accident occurred near Willingshain in East Hesse. A pedestrian died and the cyclist was injured.
