
A 61-year-old motorcyclist from Künzell suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries in an accident on Federal Highway 27.
Petersberg – The accident occurred on Sunday (June 7th) around 1:40 p.m., the police said. According to the officials, the Harley-Davidson driver was traveling from Hünfeld towards Fulda when he turned left into oncoming traffic at the turnoff to Dietershan for reasons that are still unclear.

There the man collided with a VW whose 19-year-old driver – also from Künzell – had stopped due to traffic to turn left onto Dietershaner Straße.
The impact caused the motorcyclist to fall and sustain serious injuries. He was taken to hospital for further treatment. Both vehicles were no longer drivable after the accident and had to be towed away. The police estimate the material damage caused to be around 15,000 euros.
There were traffic delays on the B27 during the rescue measures and the accident investigation.
