“Arrive, take a deep breath, revive.” – this is the motto under which the city of Schlüchtern is celebrating summer again. Those responsible have designed the “Summer on the Town Square” series of events around the men’s soccer World Cup.
Schlüchtern – “After the fantastic one Premiere of 'Summer on the Town Square' last year with the public viewing of the Women's European Football Championship It was clear to us: We definitely want to do that again,” emphasizes Mayor Matthias Möller (independent). The men's World Cup once again offers the right setting for this. From June 14th to July 19th, visitors can expect a varied program with live music, broadcasts of World Cup games and offers for the whole family.
Public viewing of the World Cup on the Schlüchtern town square
The event kicks off on Sunday, June 14th with the city of Schlüchtern's sports awards ceremony starting at 5 p.m. on the town square. From 3 p.m., the colorful children's tent with bouncy castle and popcorn provides a family-friendly supporting program. In addition, it is Entry of Mira Baus, U23 vice world champion in the two-man bobsleigh, in the city's Golden Book provided.
A warm-up party is planned for Thursday, June 25th together with the SaMaLu Bar. In addition, further coordination is currently underway for additional program items and musical offerings. Family offers with the colorful children's tent, bouncy castle and popcorn are also on the program on other event days – including on Sunday, July 5th, and for the grand finale on Sunday, July 19th. Live music with André Amberg is also planned for the final day. Two cinema events are also planned.
The diverse offering was met with great enthusiasm last year and will be continually expanded in the coming weeks. In addition to public viewing, family offerings and music formats, other cultural, social and thematic events are planned. Clubs, institutions and initiatives from Schlüchtern and the Bergwinkel are expressly invited to take part in the “Summer on the Town Square” with their own ideas and contributions and to fill the square with life.
The current program items and dates are continuously updated on the website www.schluechtern.de as well as published via the city of Schlüchtern’s social media channels. (shush)
