There was an accident on the A7 near Petersberg-Marbach on Friday evening. A Seat driver pulled in too early after overtaking and rammed a tractor-trailer. The car spun several times and ended up on the grass verge.
Petersberg-Marbach – A failed overtaking maneuver on the A7 on Friday evening (June 5th) caused a traffic accident with one person slightly injured and around 15,000 euros in property damage. According to police, the accident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on the A7 in the direction of Kassel, near Petersberg-Marbach. A 50-year-old man was driving his Seat Ibiza on the left of the two lanes to overtake a tractor-trailer. Immediately after overtaking, the driver swerved to the right too early and collided with the truck.

As a result, the right rear of the car collided with the left front of the truck. Due to the force of the impact, the Seat was thrown across the road and spun several times. The car eventually came to a stop off the road in the right-hand grass verge, police said.
The 50-year-old driver, who is also considered to be the cause of the accident, suffered minor injuries and was given medical treatment on site by the crew of an ambulance. According to police, the 58-year-old driver of the truck was uninjured.
In addition to both vehicles, traffic facilities were also damaged. Officials estimate the total damage at around 15,000 euros. Emergency services, fire brigade and a motorway police patrol were in action. There were brief disruptions to traffic for the duration of the accident investigation and rescue work.
A few days earlier, a driver was slightly injured in a collision near the A66 near Steinau/Straße.
