Hanau – With a so-called change scam, an unknown person stole around 450 euros on Tuesday afternoon in Hanau, as the police headquarters in Southeast Hesse reported. Just recently, fraudsters used this trick to steal from two victims in the Main-Kinzig district.
According to the police, the crime in Hanau occurred on Tuesday, June 9th, around 1:45 p.m. on Leimenstrasse in the area of house numbers 20. There the perpetrator spoke to a 65-year-old man from the Main-Kinzig district and asked him for change for a parking machine.

When the helpful person opened his wallet, the stranger took advantage of an opportune moment, reached into the wallet and stole around 450 euros. The man then fled with his prey in an unknown direction.
According to the police, the man they are looking for is around 1.85 meters tall and has a strong build. He has black hair and a mustache of the same color. At the time of the crime he was wearing a black suit with a white shirt.
