A herd of cattle marched into the emergency room of the district clinic in Wolfhagen. The animals ran past the keepers to the surgical outpatient clinic.
Wolfhagen – The employees of the Wolfhagen district clinic experienced a special kind of animal emergency on Wednesday morning (June 3rd): Instead of injured two-legged animals, a herd of cattle stormed into the emergency room in the Kassel district. After their spectacular “entry” through the automatic door, the herd ran past the astonished nurses and took the stairs to the surgical outpatient clinic. Whether they wanted to register for a knee endoscopy probably remains their secret. Because one of the cattle stumbled and fell down before the wild hunt continued up to the third floor, as hna.de reports.
Cattle storm the clinic in the Kassel district
However, medical attention was not necessary, smiled district spokeswoman Ala Shuhaiber, who noted that the incident in the district center was followed with humor. A not-so-funny aspect: shortly afterwards, several fresh cow patties adorned the steps, which suggests that the cattle were interpreting the clinic rules rather generously.
With the combined efforts of staff and helpers called in, as well as food as a lure, the four-legged visitors were finally expelled from the clinic. The farmer who rushed to the scene was able to successfully drive the runaways into a mobile gate outside.
The reason for the unusual excursion: “The fence must have apparently been torn down by a wild animal during the night,” explains the Wolfhagen cattle owner to the HNA. The animals have been grazing in their usual way on the Ofenberg for years without any complications.
Legacies are a case for insurance
The owner was relieved that his young cattle's adventure trip went smoothly and no one was injured. The farmer's insurance must now cover the legacies.
“It wasn’t that bad,” reassures Alia Shuhaiber. A blessing in disguise for the hospital: The cattle stayed in the hallways and stairwells during their trip. Fortunately, the four-legged visitors did not enter sterile operating theaters or sensitive patient rooms, so medical safety and patients were never in danger. For the latter and the staff, it was an amusing entertainment in everyday hospital life.
Animal excursions
It was only at the end of May that 25 cattle escaped from a pasture inSchauenburg-Elgershausen because the pasture fence had apparently been cut through. The police found the animals scattered around Kassel – their path could be reconstructed based on the flat cakes. You must have walked over the A 44 motorway bridge to Konrad-Adenauer-Straße. Individual animals were discovered in the districts of Brasselsberg and Bad Wilhelmshöhe. This incident also ended lightly.
For The sheep that stormed a penny market also recently caused a stir.
The district, which runs the clinic, has now commissioned a cleaning company to remove the debris. “The hallway will probably have to be renovated soon,” said the district spokeswoman.
After the adventure, the wild gang was put in a stable so that they could recover from their adventure. (Bea Ricken)
