Monika R. comes to court wearing a “Don’t worry, BEER happy” T-shirtFabian's grandma doesn't want to know what happened to her grandson
“I don’t want to.”
It is the fifth day of proceedings in the Rostock regional court in the murder trial against the main suspect Gina H. This time the grandmother of the killed Fabian from Güstrow, i.e. the mother of Fabian's father, is called to the witness stand. But the grandma not only defends herself against the statement, she also doesn't want to know what happened to her grandson!
Grandma is shocked by her lack of interest in the murder of her grandson Fabian
The questioning of Fabian's father's mother, Matthias R., has started in the Rostock regional court. According to RTL information, the grandmother of the boy who was killed asked a few days ago to be allowed to bring a representative to court. It was granted. Fabian's grandmother is now sitting in the witness stand with her daughter Manuela R. – and is wearing a T-shirt with the inscription “Don't worry, BEER happy”.
But it's not just her outfit that leaves people speechless. Monika's statement so far has been characterized by hesitation, slurred speech and a frightening defensive attitude. When asked repeatedly about the reasons for her son Matthias R.'s separation from Gina H., she repeatedly emphasized: “He didn't tell me that, I can't say anything.” Even Judge Holger Schütt's careful question as to whether she wanted to know what had happened to Fabian, she countered – after a long pause – with a clear answer “I don’t want to!”

Judge stunned: “I would like to know why a grandma doesn’t want to know what happened?”
The judge is visibly shocked after Fabian's grandma's statement: “First of all, I'll say this as politely as I can,” he begins hesitantly and emphasizes that Monika R. was instructed to tell the truth.
“I would like to know why a grandma doesn’t want to know what happened?” the judge finally asks. However, he doesn't get a correct answer. She simply replies, “What can I say?” And when asked to think, all I get is a curt “No.”

“No” is Fabian’s grandmother’s most used word in the courtroom
However, it doesn't just say “no”: Monika R. is also unable to provide any information when asked why Fabian didn't see his father at times and about Gina H.'s chats, which are supposed to show how much the suspect hated her ex-boyfriend's family. “You know little,” is the judge’s conclusion.
Monika R's repeated “no” also seems to be enough for the public prosecutor: “Did your son tell you how you should behave here?” Fabian's grandmother's shocking answer: “No. He just told me to say I don't know if I don't know something.” This ends the survey – without many new insights.
Policewoman on the witness stand: Monika R. is said to have been apathetic when Fabian disappeared
After Fabian's grandmother's statement, a police officer who was already involved in the search for the missing boy is called to the witness stand. She reports on the questioning of Fabian's father Matthias R. in Groß Breesen, where the farm was also searched to rule out Fabian's whereabouts. There she also met Fabian's uncle and his grandmother, who “were rather uninvolved,” said the officer.
Neither of them is said to have asked about the current status of the search. They appeared apathetic and made an unempathetic impression on the police officer.
Fifth day of the trial in the Fabian († 8) case from Güstrow – new witnesses, new findings
May 21, 2026 is the fifth day of the trial in the case of the killed Fabians († 8) from Güstrow. The eight-year-old boy disappeared without a trace from his mother's apartment on October 10, 2025. Four days later, his body was found – by today's main suspect Gina H, the father's ex-girlfriend. She was arrested by the police at the beginning of November and has been in court since April 28, 2026 – for treacherous murder with base motives.
Key witnesses are expected on the fifth day of the trial. So far, two employees of the youth club where Fabian often went, as well as the grandmother of the boy who was killed, have been questioned. Now the focus is on a police officer who meticulously checked Fabian's father's alibi. In addition, two witnesses who claim to have seen Gina H's car in connection with the crime could provide crucial clues.
