Now or never!
It's actually true: After a sign of life on Instagram including cryptic words on Wednesday (April 22nd), Markus Krampe, Mark Medlock's manager, is now making his return official. There will also be a new album coming soon.

Mark Medlock beams at the support of his fans

Mark Medlock (47) returns to the music business. His manager, Markus Krampe (55), announced via Instagram that the 2007 “DSDS” winner would be going on stage again. “Now I can finally tell you. I'm incredibly proud to be bringing this incredibly talented sunshine back to Germany's stages after more than a decade (…) I’m looking forward to the journey together.”

A little later, Mark Medlock personally contacted his followers on Instagram and was overwhelmed by the reactions: “First digest everything and go shopping. You are all completely crazy. “I never thought that so many people would be happy that I was going on stage again,” he writes about a photo that shows him beaming in a car. Markus Krampe now has the job with the stages in his hands and his new producer has to deliver, he adds.

Festivals instead of constant stress

This makes it official: After years of largely radio silence, Medlock is working on a new album and is planning appearances at festivals. He said to the picture: “I will now be much more conscious of my energy and myself. I will no longer do everything just because it is possible and other people want it,” said the musician and painter. “This time I want to approach things carefully. Step by step, with feeling and with a clear attitude.” That's why he only plans selected concerts and festival appearances.

Clear words about the relationship with Dieter Bohlen

However, one thing is certain for him: Dieter Bohlen (72), who once made him a star, will no longer be part of this chapter. Medlock and the pop titan had worked closely together until 2011, before both sides mutually parted ways. Today there is not much left of the former successful partnership. “I no longer have contact with Dieter today,” said Medlock.

Germany is looking for the superstar

The singer still doesn't want to badmouth their time together. He describes it as intense and successful, but is now looking in a different direction: “For me, a new era is now beginning, with a new focus and new paths.”

From a crowd favorite to a privateer on Sylt

Medlock won the fourth season of “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” in 2007 and, in addition to his Bohlen protégé status, also established himself as a crowd favorite. Several number one hits, television appearances, music awards as well as gold and platinum awards followed. But after several scandals, the Frankfurt native largely withdrew from show business and built a life as a private citizen on Sylt. In addition to music, he also turned to painting. (spotonnews/ajo)
