A confrontation in Maintal escalated. Two men hit each other with a cricket bat. The police are now urgently looking for witnesses.

Maintal – After a nighttime altercation in Maintal, the police in the Main-Kinzig district are investigating two cases on suspicion of dangerous bodily harm. According to the police headquarters in Southeast Hesse, the time of the crime was around 12:10 a.m. on the night of Wednesday (April 22nd) to Thursday (April 23rd).

According to the police's previous findings, the two well-known men met in the area of ​​a supermarket on Berliner Strasse in Maintal. “As a result, the two opponents are said to have hit each other with a cricket bat,” said police spokesman Maximilian Edelbluth about the dispute.

Both those involved suffered injuries as a result of the beating. In addition, threatening words are said to have been spoken during the argument. The police in Maintal are now looking for witnesses to the incident. They are asked to contact the guard on Edisonstrasse on (06181) 43020.

Why did the two men have cricket bats with them at night? However, the police did not provide any information about this in their press release. Cricket is a rounder game that originated in England. Cricket bats are made of wood. The adult rackets weigh between 1.1 and 1.3 kilograms.

A few days earlier, a dispute had escalated at a bus stop in Erlensee in the Main-Kinzig district. Three teenagers and a 33-year-old man clashed. The police are also looking for witnesses in this case. Whistleblowers are asked to call (06183) 911550.
