Mross has to cope with a series of blows of fate
The loss of Zenzi is part of a series of personal blows of fate that have accompanied Mross in recent years. In August 2025, his mother Stefanie Mross died at the age of 85 – a woman with whom he maintained a close relationship until her death. Shortly afterwards, he temporarily withdrew from public life to mourn.

In 2010 he lost his father to cancer. In an interview in October 2025 he said about the double blow of fate: “Now the two of them are reunited and we wish them all the best up there. They're really giving it their all, I know my parents.”
